RoHS, short for "Directive on the Restriction of the Use of Certain Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment", restricts the use of four heavy metals (lead, mercury, cadmium, hexvalent chromium) and two brominated flame retardants (polybrominated diphenyl ethers and polybrominated biphenyls) in electrical and electronic equipment (EEE). The European Commission has released a new Directive (EU) 2015/863 amending EU Directive 2011/65/EC to add 4 phthalate substances (DEHP, BBP, DBP and DIBP) to the list of 6 substances already included in RoHS II. The 4 phthalate substances will be banned in most EEEs starting from July 22, 2019. Anlogic Infotech offers products that allow customers to be RoHS compliant.
REACH, short for "REGULATION concerning the Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals", is a European Union regulation for the preventive management of all chemicals entering its market. A statement of Anlogic Infotech’s position on REACH compliance is provided at the following link. To request information on REACH certification for a specific product, please contact the sales center or distributor.
Anlogic Infotech is going beyond RoHS compliance requirements by turning to a combination of bromine (Br)-free and chlorine (Cl)-free materials to improve its product recyclability. Bromine-free and chlorine-free are also known in the industry as halogen-free or low-halogen. Anlogic Infotech defines halogen-free in homogeneous materials as a maximum concentration of 900 ppm for Br, 900 ppm for Cl and a maximum concentration of 1500 ppm for combined Br + Cl.Almost all laminate package products are assembled with halogen-free chip attach adhesives and die materials, except for outdated laminate designs that may involve bromine and chlorine.
MCD, short for Material Composition Declaration, plays the same role as MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet), and the MCD report corresponding to the product includes the structure of the product composition, composition materials of each structure, mass, specific gravity, and other information.
Anlogic Infotech will provide a list of MCDs that comply with environmental hazardous substance management standards for customers. For further information, please contact the sales center or distributor.
